My Review

Fix My Fall is the first book I’ve read by Carey Heywood. I didn’t get a chance to read the first two books in this series, but they are definitely on my tbr list now! All of her books look amazing. I can’t wait to eventually read them all.

I loved so much about the book, but one of my favorite parts, besides Spencer, is the relationship Abby has with her family. Family is a huge part of my life, so I could totally relate to her in that sense. Family truly is everything.

Fix My Fall was such a swoon worthy book. I immediately fell for Spencer. He is sweet, considerate, and completely love able and sexy! I’m a little jealous of Abby 😉

Abby is an amazing woman. When she is faced with a disaster at the beginning of the book, she stays strong and she doesn’t let life get her down. She is also so kindhearted and just a great person overall. Abby & Spencer were truly made for each other.

Fix My Fall was a sweet romance book that I would definitely recommend to my book friends!

Thank you for taking your time to read my review.

Coconuts are itchy. I should’ve gone for the watermelons.
But it was a bitch and a half getting that last-minute
private fitting at Madame Cosette’s anyway, and the woman probably would’ve had

Besides, it’s the heels that are gonna be the bigger

And my minidress is stretched to max capacity over the

A wolf whistle echoes through the swanky private clubhouse

My Review

This is the 2nd book by Pippa Grant that I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing! The previous book I reviewed was Stud in the Stacks, which was just as amazing as The Pilot and the Puck-Up! The next book I’m looking forward to reading & reviewing is Mr. Mchottie…which is free for a limited time & is on Kindle Unlimited!

The Pilot and the Puck-Up has everything I love in a romantic comedy! The book was hilarious, the sex scenes were hot & heavy and the characters were lovable. I literally laughed out loud so many times while reading this book. I couldn’t get enough of Zeus & Joey!

“And I gleek. I fucking gleek. Right in her face. A big ol’ shot of my mouth juice, arcing through the air to sprinkle all over her nose and cheeks. This woman makes me blow body fluids every single fucking time I see her.”- Zeus Berger.

The story of Zeus and Joey warmed my heart. Sometimes you just need to meet the right person to be able to open yourself up to love. I was rooting for them from the beginning. I also loved the other characters in the book. I would love to read more about what happens with Gracie and her prince. Maybe Pippa will write their story. I would love to read more!

If you love a romantic comedy that will have you laughing and swooning, you need to go get your copy of The Pilot & the Puck-Up!

As always, thank you for taking your time to read my review!

My Review

Congrats to Samantha Lind on her new release! This is my first book by her and I’m looking forward to reading more in the future! When I started Scoring the Player, I couldn’t put it down! I had to finish it in one sitting! This book is HOTTTT!

OMG! I loved this book! I definitely related to Kinley on a personal level. I’m about her same age and I am also at a point in my life where I’m just not looking for a one night stand. I want a relationship and I’m willing to wait for the right man now.

I was completely in awe of Brians actions throughout the book and how he grew as a person. He is honestly the exact type of man I would want in my life. He’s sexy as hell, sweet, respectful and protective.

I caught myself smiling throughout this book. I was rooting for Brian and Kinley! I’m so glad I had an opportunity to read and review Scoring the Player!

Some lies are meant to deceive. Others to protect.

My lies have done nothing but harm. They push people away. Even the people that I want to hold onto for dear life. Mica Reyes is too beautiful and pure for my tarnished soul, although I want her with a fierceness of a caged lion.

They say letting go of your grief and your sins will unburden you and set you free. But it’s her I need to set free from the pain I’ll cause from loving her too much.

My Abuelita always said I should never give my heart away unless I knew it would be in capable hands. To give it to a man who would love and cherish me and put me first above all others.

But my heart didn’t listen. I fell for Lance Britton, the college basketball player who uses humor to outwardly disguise the emotional turmoil that lives inside him. To hide his painful secrets.

But I know him. And although I hate ultimatums, I may need to give him one before the lies between us grow any deeper. Letting go may be the only way to reach him.

I have a monster living inside of me.

Eating me alive from the inside out. Turning me into something I never wanted to be. Someone I abhorred and loathed.

That monster is my darkest secret.

One that will eventually be my ruin. The thing that will turn my world upside down.

The evil villain that will destroy me.

There’s no pain quite as excruciating as watching the woman who gave birth to you, who raised and cared for you, slowly killing herself. Whether intentional or not is irrelevant. There are only two people to blame for her condition.

One of them is me and I couldn’t save her.

My father is somewhere out there on a bender. Just another one in a cycle of many. Hundreds that I’ve known in my lifetime. Twenty-two years of booze, drugs and disappearing acts.

I need to drink. And get high.

And then I need to fuck someone. Hopefully in that order.

These self-destructive behaviors are the only things that get me out of my head long enough to avoid thinking about all I’ve done. All the pain I’ve created. The deaths I’ve caused.

It’s just another reason to hate myself and the man I’ve become. If I wasn’t such a fucking coward, I’d be lying in the ground next to her right now, too. Next to my brother’s grave, as well.

There are days I wish I wouldn’t wake up. That I could fuck myself up so much that I’d fall asleep and drift off into the endless night. Because that would mean I wouldn’t have to live any longer with this constant malignant hatred that lives deep inside my soul. The self-loathing, loss and grief that I’ve caused.

But instead, the daylight always returns, making that hole in my heart seem bigger and deeper.

My Review

Congrats to Sierra Hill on the release of Sweet Little Lies! I haven’t read the previous 4 books in this series, but I’m looking forward to reading them in the future! Sierra is another wonderful author I have discovered this year.

Becoming a book blogger has allowed me to open myself up to different types of books. In the past, I typically stayed within the thriller and dark romance genre. I’ve only read one other book that touches on the existing problems with racism. I think Sierra Hill did an amazing job portraying the struggles people still face. It’s sad that people are still so closed minded in their views ,as you will see in Sweet Little Lies.

I enjoyed the realism in this book. I read a lot of dark romances and I love them, but it’s nice to read a romance that is more on the realistic side every now and then. Lance and Mica are the perfect example of the saying “Love Conquers All.”  No relationship is perfect, but if you truly love each other, you will find a way to work out your differences and face them head on.

Mica is a truly amazing woman. I love the respect that she has for herself.  I was so proud of her decisions throughout the book. We need more books like this. It was refreshing to read a book with a female character that had so much self-respect. Mica is a perfect example and she inspired me.

Lance has his demons from his past and it hurt reading what he thought about himself. I struggled reading through some of the scenes. I wanted to jump into the book and give him a big hug and tell him everything will be ok. He has made mistakes, but we are all human. Sometimes its hard to remember that when you are going through struggles of your own.

I enjoyed Sweet Little Lies and I look forward to reading more from Sierra Hill in the future!

Thank you for taking your time to read my review!

He’s becoming really obvious.
The mystery man is here again, hidden in the shadows and out of clear sight, but I’m catching onto him.
After noticing him standing behind me the other day, the dark stranger has been appearing everywhere lately. I’m pretty sure this guy wants to get caught. Perhaps he’s been hanging nearby a lot longer and I’m just realizing it. My pulse beats wildly, the whooshing pounding in my ears as I continue watching him. This reaction isn’t from fear but rather a startling awareness of his recurring presence. I’m not scared of him, though most might be, and the need to know why snakes through my system.
We’ve been playing an intense game of hide-and-seek since that afternoon outside Aire Gardens almost a week ago. I’ll go somewhere—my studio, Brewed Awakenings, around campus, my apartment—and after settling in, begin searching for him. He’s always there, waiting to be spotted. Each time I find him, my belly tightens as a smile lights up my face. Discovering him out there, lingering in the background, has become something I really look forward to.
How didn’t I notice sooner?
Perhaps it’s my total inexperience with dating, and the opposite sex in general, that has me getting far too attached to these moments. I’m getting wrapped up in the fantasy of him, of what he represents. This stranger—Seek is what I’ve started calling him—is the closest thing to a boyfriend I’ve ever had. I find myself daydreaming about him, wondering who he really is, when did he find me, and most importantly—why me?
I press my palm flat against the cool glass and stare at him leaning against the large oak tree outside the Student Center. My thoughts are becoming more and more consumed with a guy I don’t even know—at least not really. Yet it seems like I do.

Congrats to Harloe on this beautiful book! She is another new author I have discovered on this wonderful book blogging journey.  I’m really looking forward to reading her other books, Redefining Us & Forget You Not ( a 2 Book Series)!

Right from the beginning,  I felt an instant connection to Ryker. When I was in school, I typically stayed to myself. I was an introvert and I never really knew how to fit in with everyone else. I never experienced the bullying that he did, but I know what it feels like to feel alone in this world. The way he felt about himself made my heart hurt for him. I wanted to protect him….like he wanted to protect Lennon.

I don’t want to give too much away because I want you to experience the same beautiful story as I did. At times, I feel like I’m a little different than other people,  so I appreciated Ryker’s efforts. He expressed himself the only way he knew how and I found that romantic in itself.

Watch Me Follow was perfectly paced. I didn’t feel like the author was dragging the story out. I was eager to turn the pages and find out what was going to happen next.

I buried my body beneath the covers and curled around his warmth. With my head rested just where he’d wanted it, I closed my eyes tight and willed the tears away. Doing my best to hide the emptiness consuming me, I concentrated on breathing evenly.
“Always loved you right like this,” he confessed. “Your body so close to mine it feels like we’re the same person.”
I took deep breaths as I thought of all the reasons life was so damn unfair.
“Loved burying my face in your hair, just breathing you in.”
Those were the words most girls dreamed of hearing, and they made our love feel more solid and concrete. But hearing them now was like a slow form of torture, because they were tearing the small amount of control I had left in me to pieces.
“You were made just for me, Sawyer Cooper,” he whispered sleepily. “I truly believe that.”
I squeeze my eyes shut tighter as I curled into him closer.
“Forever my girl.”
Tears rolled along my cheeks as I did all I could to wipe them away before he noticed. I was thankful sleep had taken him over and he was oblivious to the shattering of my soul.

My Review

Congrats to C. A. Harms on the release of Don’t Be Afraid! This is the first book I’ve read by her and I can definetly see myself reading more of her books in the future.

I will give you a warning ahead of time that this second chance romance will bring you to tears and have you yelling “whyyyyyy????”

Don’t Be Afraid reminded me of how precious life is and how your entire life can be altered in a heartbeat. As Sawyer and Patrick learned, life is not always fair. I couldn’t image having to face the things they did.

I seriously struggled with this book. I wasn’t sure at times if I could actually finish it. My emotions were everywhere and my heart hurt so bad. Not every part of the book was sad though. There were times I found myself laughing and my heart feeling full. I was reminded to live my life to the fullest every single day!

This book absolutely earns 5 stars from me!

Thank you for taking your time to read my review!

An English teacher, an author, and a fan of anything pink
and/or glittery, Lindsay’s the English teacher cliché; she loves cats, reading,
Shakespeare, and Poe.
She currently lives in her hometown with her husband, Chad (her junior high
sweetheart); their cats, Arya, Amelia, Alice, Marjorie, and Bob; and their
mastiff, Henry.Lindsay’s goal with her writing is to show the power of love and the beauty of
life while also instilling a true sense of realism in her work. Some reviewers
have noted that her books are not the “typical romance.” With her novels coming
from a place of honesty, Lindsay examines the difficult questions, looks at the
tough emotions, and paints the pictures that are sometimes difficult to look
at. She wants her fiction to resonate with readers as realistic, poetic, and
powerful. Lindsay wants women readers to be able to say, “I see myself in that
novel.” She wants to speak to the modern woman’s experience while also bringing
a twist of something new and exciting. Her aim is for readers to say, “That
could happen,” or “I feel like the characters are real.” That’s how she knows
she’s done her job.Lindsay’s hope is that by becoming a published author, she can inspire some of
her students and other aspiring writers to pursue their own passions. She wants
them to see that any dream can be attained and publishing a novel isn’t out of
the realm of possibility.

My Rating: 5 Stars!
First off, congrats Lindsay Detwiler on this beautiful book! Lindsay is another new author I have discovered and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books soon! I’m a sucker for a beautiful romance story and she seems to have plenty of those. I’m definitely a fan now!
In Lindsay’s bio, it says she is known for realism in her writing. I found this very refreshing. I felt such a connection to Marley, because I also have issues with opening up to love. I don’t like to expose myself to the possibility of getting hurt. I have had a lot of hard times and I come with baggage too, so I understood why she felt like she did.
My heart broke for Marley when she thought she wasn’t good enough for Alex. Marley and Alex are from two different worlds. Marley has been held back by the tragedies that have occurred in her life and she thinks less of herself because of it. Can Alex convince her that she is more than good enough for him? Can Marley also help Alex discover more about himself?
Marley and Alex are two Amazing people. I enjoyed reading this beautiful story. I don’t typically read books twice, but I can see myself reading this again at some point. All of You gave me hope that maybe there is a chance that I will meet someone like Alex one day. Someone that can be my rock and I can also be his. I would definitely recommend this book!
