“Oh, Crappy Doodles!” Hell in a Handbasket by Denise Grover Swank releases on April 17th!

For those of you who have read A Rose Gardner Mystery series & the Investigation series, you will understand “Oh, Crappy Doodles!” If you haven’t read these series yet…shame on you 😉

I discovered A Rose Gardner Mystery series on Amazon a couple summers ago. After reading the first book in the series, Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes, I couldn’t stop. I fell in love with Rose and the rest of the characters.

Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes synopsis:

For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV is bad even before she has a vision of herself dead. She’s had plenty of visions, but she’s never seen herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered instead of Rose, there’s only one thing that’s certain: Rose is the prime suspect.

With prison looming, Rose realizes she’s wasted her life and makes a list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt: twenty-eight things she wants to accomplish before everything falls apart. From getting cable TV to doing “more” with a man, Rose is well on her way to committing a good number of the seven deadly sins, with the help of her hot and mysterious neighbor Joe, who has plenty of dangerous secrets of his own.

When her house is broken into and someone else she knows is murdered, Rose realizes that dying in the county jail may not be her biggest worry after all in Denise Grover Swank’s New York Times bestselling mystery debut.

Before reading Hell in a Handbasket, you will need to start with Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes and read the books in order leading up to the newest one. There are 9 books in the mystery series and several novellas. The series then spins off to A Rose Gardner Investigation series & Neely Kate Mysteries. Neely Kate appears later on in A Rose Gardner Mystery series…and you will love her!

One of the reasons I love these books is because there are so many of them! I have enjoyed each book and they never get boring. I hope Denise continues to write about Rose and Neely Kate’s shenanigans for a long time!

Here is a list of the books you will need to read. I’ve listed them in order:

New Book Coming Soon! The Date by Louise Jensen-6/21/18!

Her Saturday night started normally. Recently separated from her husband, Ali has been persuaded by her friends to go on a date with a new man. She is ready, she is nervous, she is excited. She is about to take a step into her new future.

By Sunday morning, Ali’s life is unrecognisable. She wakes, and she knows that something is wrong. She is home, she is alone, she is hurt and she has no memory of what happened to her.

Worse still, when she looks in the mirror, Ali doesn’t recognise the face staring back at her. She can’t recognise her friends and family. And she can’t recognise the person who is trying to destroy her…

To say I’m a HUGE fan of Louise Jensen is an understatement! I was beyond excited to see her post on her Facebook yesterday that she is releasing a new book on June 21st! The countdown is officially on!

Here are the other amazing books by Louise! I would recommend all of these if you are a fan of psychological thrillers! Each of her books are stand alone’s, so you don’t have to read any of them in order.

New Release: Kiss Me Like You Mean It by J. R. Rogue.

Based on a True Story!

Release Date: 3/22/2018

My love is poison. His kiss is mine.

“The first time he saw me I was shattered glass, and he was a shadow. If I had stayed, he would have just faded away.”

It’s strange how easy it is to tell our stories to a stranger’s eyes. The truth about Connor Stratford and I had always been a sad tale. Over ten years of chasing, tears, lies, vows, and leaving. Two people who never loved each other at the same time, but couldn’t let each other go.

Now here I was telling our story over drinks midday in an airport bar with my old diary clutched in my hand. Telling some version of our story, anyway.

I left him once with no goodbye. Now I was returning home to give him what he needed to move on.

“It’s important. It’s what you’re thinking.”

I knew what his message meant, sent in the middle of the night after I woke from a fever dream.

He was finally ready, and so was I. I just needed to finally give him the kiss he begged for. The one that meant goodbye.

If you’ve never read anything by J.R. Rogue, I would definitely recommend you do! I love reading her poetry and books!

Review: The Broken by Casey Kelleher.

My Rating: 5 stars….as always!

Genre: Crime Fiction- Mystery/Thriller/Suspense

Published: 2/22/18

Print Length: 322 pages

They took her dad, but she won’t let them take her.

Nancy Byrne was the apple of her daddy’s eye. He might have been one of the most-feared gangsters in London, yet Jimmy Byrne idolised his little Nancy. But now Jimmy is dead, gunned down in cold blood – and Nancy vows to avenge his death.

She’s only twenty years old, but as the new head of the ruthless Byrne gang, running a lucrative world of drugs, sex and violence, she’s in over her head. Keeping her family together all while Joanie, her beloved grandma, falls apart, and her brother Daniel goes off the rails forces Nancy to grow up – fast.

But while Nancy takes the men on at their own game, there’s a greater danger hiding on the dark streets. Jimmy’s killer is on her trail – and will stop at nothing to shut her up.

Blood might be thicker than water, but soon, Nancy realises she can’t trust anyone. Not even her own family.

Especially her own family.

I’m a HUGE fan of Casey Kelleher, so I got really excited when I found out she was writing The Broken! Before you read The Broken, you need to read the first book, The Betrayed. This is the first time she has written a follow up to one of her books. All the others are stand-alone.

I discovered Casey last year & I have read every one of her books. The stories are fast-paced and filled with suspense. Before I dive into my review, here are all of her books up to date…not in order. Some of these books are also free with Kindle Unlimited! While I have loved every book, Rotten to the Core has been my favorite so far!

My Review

The first chapter of The Broken is nail-biting and packed with suspense. Casey doesn’t waste any time and that’s what I love about her writing style. Her books always keep me on the edge of my seat, craving more! She has a way of making the readers feel so connected to her characters. I feel like I am right there in the book!

As I was reading the book, I found myself thinking back to The Betrayed a lot. I wish I had re-read it before I started The Broken. It’s been a while since I read it and I felt like I had forgotten some of the key elements. If it’s also been a while since you read the first book, I would recommend reading it again before starting this book. I was able to figure things out and eventually remembered what happened, but I struggled at times.

The events that happen in the book are jaw-dropping…literally. Sometimes I would read something that I totally didn’t expect and all I could do was just stare at the book for a minute…in total disbelief! When I’m reading a suspense, I loved to have those unexpected shocks & Casey definitely delivered!

Nancy is the type of woman I would want to go to war beside of, not against. The world she lives in is male-dominated, so she has to prove that she is capable of taking over the Byrne empire. I don’t want to give too much away, but I think Nancy is just as ruthless as her father, Jimmy Byrne. Nancy will do whatever it takes to keep her fathers legacy alive.

In my opinion, the most shocking part of the book is Jack. OMG! SERIOUSLY?!?! He totally threw me off! I can’t wait to see what all happens in the third book! The ending of The Broken is a cliffhanger. I will be counting down the days once Casey announces the release date!

I would definitely recommend The Broken to my book-loving friends…just remember to read The Betrayed first! And while you’re at it, just go ahead and read the rest of her books lol. You will be glad you did!

As always, thank you for taking your time to read my review!

Review: Deviants by Natalie Bennett.

Warning! Deviants is not for the faint of heart. This book is filled with gruesome scenes and definitely not recommended to anyone under 18!

My Rating: 5 Stars

Genre: Horror/Erotica

Published: 2/22/18

Print Length: 461 pages

Free with Kindle-Unlimited

Sick bitch

Out of my fucking head.

I’m not broken.

I’m just a little damaged.

I’m stronger now, stronger than I ever knew.

And it’s all because of him.

This is only the beginning but I already know how it’s going to end.

I’ll be claiming my throne and they’ll be buried in the dirt.

Out of my fucking mind

We both know how it’s all going to end.

The blood we shed will stain our hands.

There’s not a warning out there that could prepare anyone for this.

*Deviants is book two in the Badlands series and will conclude Romero and Cali’s story.

You can read my review of the 1st book in the Badlands Series, Savages, by clicking HERE!

Congrats to Natalie Bennett for the recent release of her new book, Deviants! I devoured Savages, the first book in the series, in one night. The ending had a HUGE cliffhanger, so I was counting down the days until I could find out what happened!

Deviants was everything I hoped it would be and more! This book is seriously gruesome, just like Savages. If you have a weak stomach, you may want to pass this book up. I found myself cringing so many times, but I just can’t get enough of Romero & Cali! The sex scenes are also intense and crazy, to say the least!

Romero and Cali’s relationship isn’t something most people would dream of, but I envy how protective he is of his queen. They have a strange relationship, but it works for them. He makes it known that she is his and he is hers.

Romero is fiercely protective of what’s his, but so is Cali…she will do more than just scratch your eyes out if you try to come between her and her man. Don’t underestimate her. She is the craziest female character I’ve ever read about. Romero + Cali= Beautiful Disaster!

I love books that keep me in suspense and Deviants definitely did just that! So many things happened that I did not expect at all. I didn’t want Deviants to end…BUT I’m so excited for the 3rd Badlands book, Outcasts, to come out on May 12th! I can’t wait to find out Arlen’s story…this should be interesting!!!!

My Review

Fix My Fall is the first book I’ve read by Carey Heywood. I didn’t get a chance to read the first two books in this series, but they are definitely on my tbr list now! All of her books look amazing. I can’t wait to eventually read them all.

I loved so much about the book, but one of my favorite parts, besides Spencer, is the relationship Abby has with her family. Family is a huge part of my life, so I could totally relate to her in that sense. Family truly is everything.

Fix My Fall was such a swoon worthy book. I immediately fell for Spencer. He is sweet, considerate, and completely love able and sexy! I’m a little jealous of Abby 😉

Abby is an amazing woman. When she is faced with a disaster at the beginning of the book, she stays strong and she doesn’t let life get her down. She is also so kindhearted and just a great person overall. Abby & Spencer were truly made for each other.

Fix My Fall was a sweet romance book that I would definitely recommend to my book friends!

Thank you for taking your time to read my review.
